How to clean up a DNA sequence
- Paste a sequence copied from anywhere, with numbers, spaces or other characters in it.
- Choose whether letters that are not bases are removed or replaced with N, and tick Change U to T for RNA.
- Set the letter case and line length. Copy output or Download saves the result.
Frequently asked questions
Which letters are kept?
A, C, G, T, U and the IUPAC ambiguity codes R, Y, S, W, K, M, B, D, H, V and N. Everything else counts as another letter or is dropped.
Is my sequence uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser, so your sequences never leave your device.
