How to make a codon usage table
- Paste one or more coding DNA sequences.
- Choose the genetic code and the reading frame.
- The table lists every codon with its count, frequency per thousand codons and share among the codons for the same amino acid.
Frequently asked questions
What does the Fraction column mean?
The share of that codon among all codons for its amino acid. If a protein uses GCC for 40 of its 100 alanines, GCC has a fraction of 0.40.
Can I use the table in other tools?
Yes. Paste it into Reverse Translate or Codon Plot to use its most common codons or to spot rare ones.
Is my sequence uploaded?
