GenBank Feature Extractor
How to extract features from a GenBank file
- Paste one or more GenBank records with their FEATURES table and sequence.
- Type the feature types to extract, such as CDS gene rRNA, or tick All feature types.
- Each feature becomes a FASTA record titled with its type, name and location.
Frequently asked questions
Are join and complement handled?
Yes. join() pieces are joined in order and complement() features are reverse complemented, so a CDS comes out reading 5' to 3' from its start codon.
Can it translate the CDS too?
Use the GenBank Translation Extractor to get the protein translation stored with each CDS.
Is my sequence uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser, so your sequences never leave your device.
