Frequently asked questions
How are ambiguous codons translated?
A codon with an IUPAC code is translated when every codon it could be gives the same amino acid, such as GCN for alanine. Otherwise it becomes X.
Which genetic codes are included?
The standard code and the NCBI alternative codes, including vertebrate, yeast and invertebrate mitochondrial, the bacterial and plastid code, and the ciliate nuclear codes.
