The same RPM gives a different force in every rotor, while × g is the force on the sample itself, so a protocol in × g works on any centrifuge.
What happens at twice the speed?
Force rises with the square of the speed: NaN RPM gives four times the force of 12,000 RPM, about 54,737 × g in an 8.5 cm rotor.
