How to test your speakers

1. Turn your volume down a little first, then click Left, Both or Right.
2. The tone should come only from the side you chose. If it comes from the other side, the speakers or headphones are swapped.
3. Try the low tone to check the bass and the sweep to hear the full range your speakers can play.

Frequently asked questions

I hear the left tone on the right.

The left and right channels are swapped: check that your headphones are the right way round, or swap the speaker cables. Some headsets also have a balance setting in the system sound settings.

Sound comes from both sides when I click Left.

Your system may be set to mono audio, an accessibility option on Windows, macOS, iPhone and Android. Some speakers, such as single Bluetooth speakers, are mono and play both channels together.

I cannot hear the high tone or the end of the sweep.

That is normal. Many small speakers cannot play very low or very high sounds, and most adults cannot hear above 15 to 17 kHz.
