Why are there two resolutions?

Most computers and phones scale the screen so text is not tiny. The browser works in scaled pixels (Screen size as the browser sees it), while the panel has more physical pixels. The physical resolution at the top is the scaled size multiplied by the device pixel ratio.

What is the device pixel ratio?

It is how many physical pixels make up one scaled pixel across. 1 means no scaling; 2 is typical for phones and Retina displays; Windows scaling of 125% or 150% gives 1.25 or 1.5.

The result is not my monitor's native resolution.

Browsers report the resolution the system is set to, which may be lower than the panel supports. Zooming the page also changes the pixel ratio; press Ctrl+0, or Cmd+0 on a Mac, to reset it. With several monitors, the result is for the one showing this window.
