How to test your webcam
- Click Start camera and allow the browser to use your camera.
- Your picture appears with its real resolution and the frame rate being received.
- Pick another camera or a resolution to see what your webcam supports, and click Take photo to save a snapshot.

Why is my webcam showing a black picture?
Check that a privacy shutter or cover is not closed, that no other app such as Zoom or Teams is using the camera, and that the browser is allowed to use it in your system's privacy settings.
Why is the resolution lower than my webcam's specification?
Browsers pick a modest size by default. Choose 1080p or 4K in Resolution to ask for more; the camera sends the closest size it supports. Some cameras give their highest resolution only at a lower frame rate.
Why is the picture mirrored?
It is shown like a mirror, which feels natural when you look at yourself. Other people on a call see it the right way round. Untick Mirror to see what they see; photos are saved the way they are shown.
Is the video uploaded?
No. The picture only goes from your camera to this page, and nothing is recorded or sent anywhere.
