How do I keep the GIF small?
Shorter clips, a smaller width and a lower frame rate all shrink it. A 5-second clip at 480 px and 12 fps is usually a few megabytes.
Why do GIFs look grainy?
GIF allows only 256 colors per image. Each GIF gets its own palette picked from the clip, which keeps it as close as possible.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, and your video never leaves your device.
