How to record your screen
- Choose whether to record the sound too, and whether to add your microphone.
- Click Start recording and pick the whole screen, a window or a browser tab. To record a tab's sound, choose the tab and leave the option to share its audio on.
- Click Stop, or the browser's own Stop sharing button, then watch the preview and download the video.

What format is the video?
MP4 where the browser can record it, such as Chrome, Edge and Safari, and WebM otherwise. To turn a WebM into an MP3 or a GIF, use WebM to MP3 or WebM to GIF.
Why is there no sound from my screen?
Chrome and Edge can record the sound of a tab everywhere, and the sound of the whole screen on Windows and ChromeOS. Other browsers and systems record the picture without its sound; add your microphone to narrate instead.
Is there a time limit or a watermark?
No. You can record for as long as your device has memory, and nothing is added to the video.
Does it work on phones?
No. Phone browsers do not allow web pages to record the screen. Use the screen recorder built into iOS or Android.
Is the recording uploaded?
No. The video is recorded and kept in your browser until you download it.
