How to remove a password from a PDF

1. Click the box above or drop the PDF onto it.
2. If the PDF only restricts printing or copying, it is unlocked straight away. If it asks for a password to open, type it and click Unlock.
3. Download the unlocked PDF. It opens without a password and has no restrictions.

Can it unlock a PDF without the password?

Only PDFs that open without a password but block printing, copying or editing. A PDF that needs a password to open is encrypted with it, and cannot be unlocked without it.

Is this legal?

Removing a password from your own documents, or ones you have the right to use, is fine. Do not use it to get around protection on files you are not allowed to change.

Is my PDF or password uploaded?

No. The PDF is decrypted in your browser; neither the file nor the password leaves your device.
