How is GPA calculated?
Each grade is worth points (A = 4.0, B = 3.0, C = 2.0, D = 1.0, F = 0, with + and − adding or taking away about 0.3). Multiply each course's points by its credits, add them up, and divide by the total credits.
Is A+ worth 4.3?
At most US colleges an A+ counts as 4.0, which is what is used here. A few schools give 4.3; check your school's scale.
Does it work for weighted high school GPAs?
This calculates an unweighted GPA. Weighted scales that add points for honors or AP classes vary between schools.
