How much should I tip?

It depends on the country. In the United States, 15 to 20% is usual in restaurants. In much of Europe, service is included and people round up or leave 5 to 10%. In Japan, tipping is not expected.

Should I tip on the amount before or after tax?

Either is common. Tipping on the amount before tax is the traditional rule; enter the pre-tax amount as the bill if you prefer that.
