No. The document is read and laid out inside your browser, so it never leaves your device.
Will it look exactly like it does in Word?
The content is kept: headings, bold and italic, lists, tables, links and pictures. Page layout is not: fonts, colors, columns, headers and footers, and exactly where pages break follow the browser's print layout rather than Word's. For a page-perfect copy, use Save as PDF in Word itself.
Can it convert old .doc files?
No, only .docx. Open the .doc in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs and save it as .docx first.
