Percent Solution Calculator
How to make a percent solution
- Choose % w/v, % v/v or % w/w and type the percent.
- Type the final volume, or the final mass for % w/w.
- Weigh or measure the solute shown, then add solvent up to the final volume or mass. For % w/v, add the solute formula to see the molarity.
Frequently asked questions
What does % w/v mean?
Grams of solute per 100 mL of solution. A 10% w/v NaCl solution has 10 g of NaCl in every 100 mL.
Why add solvent up to the volume instead of measuring it?
Volumes do not always add up exactly when liquids mix or solids dissolve, so dissolve the solute in less solvent and then make it up to the final volume.
